Overview

Laurel Canyon is the newest golf course community nestled in the charming city of Canton, Georgia. This delightful community of 978 acres features over 300 feet of elevation change and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Laurel Canyon will be home to over 1,200 families in two distinct neighborhoods, Longleaf and Seasons, and will include a retail village for added convenience. Over 300 acres of trees and meandering creeks will be set aside as green space, including the 18-hole Fairways of Canton golf course, which will be open to all residents of the Canton community.

The homes at Laurel Canyon are planned to be priced from the $200s to over $1,000,000.

Location

Laurel Canyon is located within the city of Canton, in Cherokee County, Georgia. Canton had its early beginnings as part of an Indian trade route into the Cherokee Nation, and was incorporated as the county seat in 1833. Now enjoying the greatest economic boom in its history, Canton was named one of Georgia's Cities of Excellence in 2004 by the Georgia Municipal Association/Georgia Trend magazine.

Canton is the ideal launching point for exploring all the riches of North Georgia - including the Etowah River, Lakes Allatoona & Arrowhead, Red Top and Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Parks, Amicolola Falls, Dahlonega and the Chattahoochee National Forest. And the cultural, social and retail amenities of Atlanta are just 30 miles to the south.

To visit Laurel Canyon, take I-575 North to Exit 20. From the exit ramp, turn left onto Riverstone Parkway. Turn right on Reinhardt College Parkway and right again on Highway 140. Laurel Canyon will be approximately 2.5 miles ahead on your left.

Neighborhoods

Laurel Canyon will offer two distinctive neighborhoods:

Longleaf at Laurel Canyon will offer approximately 350 homes priced from the $200s to over $1,000,000. Builders for Longleaf will be announced in late Summer 2005.

Seasons at Laurel Canyon is a manned, gated Active Adult neighborhood for those aged 55 or better. Built exclusively by Levitt and Sons, Seasons is their first foray into the Atlanta market and Levitt plans to redefine Active Adult living. The 765 homes within Seasons will be priced from the $200s to the $400s.

Amenities

Laurel Canyon's two neighborhoods will each have the benefit of a unique set of amenities for the enjoyments of its residents.

Longleaf will have at its heart Laurel Village, complete with The Gathering Cottage and its Fitness Center and Party Porch. Laurel Village will also feature a Junior Olympic Pool, Water Park, four lighted Tennis Courts and Pavilion, All-Sports Court and Playing Field, Children's Play Park and Outdoor Fire Pit.

The centerpiece of the Seasons neighborhood will be The Club at Seasons. This 28,000 square foot clubhouse will be complete with a Theatre and Performing Arts Center for live performances and events, an Arts & Crafts Room with two kilns, a Gourmet Teaching Kitchen, Tennis Club, and a Fitness Center with Indoor Pool. A dedicated Social Director will be on hand to direct the activities in the clubhouse. Seasons also features walking trails throughout the community.

Golf Club

Winding throughout both Longleaf and Seasons is The Fairways of Canton, an 18-hole golf course to be built and managed by Rocky Rocquemore, developer of the Canongate Golf Clubs. Located within Laurel Village, The Fairways of Canton will be a daily fee course open to all Canton residents and will offer some of the most dramatic golf play in the area. There will also be a 3,500 square foot clubhouse with space for hosting special events.

The Fairways of Canton Driving Range and Clubhouse will open to the public in Summer 2006. The Golf Course will open Spring 2007.

Shopping/Services:

Laurel Canyon will eventually include its own village of neighborhood shops at its entry on Highway 140, but in the meantime, the community is only minutes from Riverstone Plaza and its wide offering of shopping and dining, including Publix, Belk, The Home Depot, Starbucks, Longhorn Steakhouse and Red Lobster.

Nearby on Riverstone Parkway, the Metro Atlanta YMCA is constructing its new $8 million G. Cecil Pruett Community Center, which is scheduled to be completed in 2006. The center will offer an indoor pool, gymnasium, wellness center, community rooms, indoor track, sauna-steam room, Cherokee Sports Hall of Fame, nursery and teen center.

Located on Highway 140, Northside Hospital - Cherokee is an 84-bed, full service hospital offering inpatient, outpatient and emergency medical services to residents of Cherokee County.
